Cape Winelands & Drakenstein Municipality
Drakenstein Municipality is a local municipality located within the Cape Winelands District Municipality, in the Western Cape province of South Africa. Paarl is a growing rural town situated in the Cape Winelands and Drakenstein Municipality and it is one of the oldest towns in South Africa Today. According to the Drakenstein Municipality report compiled for 2017, due to higher gaps in income and economic conditions, the categories of people vulnerable to poverty remained to be African females, children 17 years and younger, people from rural areas, and those with no education. Inflation-adjusted poverty lines show that food poverty is increasing year on year.
