The Community Chef by Call 2 Care 👨🍳❤️👩🍳
Featuring head chef & restauranteur Rivet Dom from Alforno Ristorante Italiano, participants took part in a fun culinary experience that puts you to the challenge of preparing 200 heartfelt gourmet meals for the Gugulethu community members that rely on the feeding scheme for a meal.
The event was action packed with culinary activity. We began with "warm breakers" to introduce participants to each other. Participants were then provided with continuous expert culinary tips and guidance by Dom and continued with teams being presented with a series of challenges in order to move closer to cooking Alforno's signature dish and dessert. The final creations were judged by presentation and taste with Team 4 winning the final prizes kindly sponsored by Alforno. The teams then participated in a meet and greet with the appreciative and vibrant Gugulethu community and ended with sharing a delicious meal together.
